Since my computer broke, I've found myself sketching more, and doing images that I plan to finish with old fashioned pen and pencil colours instead of going, "Eventually I'll colour it on the computer..."

In the process, I realise that I've got better since I started drawing all my Union  heroes. The pictures I started doing back then- like the one of Morgana Fiolett are okay, but they're so... static. I've got lots of drawings of exciting people... mostly just standing there.

Compare those to the stuff I've just uploaded- the poses are much better and more dynamic. I think the practice has been paying off.

So... I might rethink the "draw all my heroes" project. Not sack it off, but maybe, in a stupid, stubborn way, restart it...

But I decided to do some more of my "Saddled Brains" cartoons. The rest were all done in 2007, so there has been quite a gap! Nevertheless, I have plenty of ideas to do, but I decided to go with a thematic concept, for this weekend, and finally do my "Grand National from Braintree".

Since Christmas I got the three year veteran reward on City of Heroes, giving me a new character slot which I promptly filled, currently with a very tall angelic type called Hallelujah. Mainly because I was surprised the name was available. If I have a better idea though I might delete her.

Anyway, in a new year sort of spirit I dug out the pencils, pens and paper and managed to draw another character. There you go, Carmen Chameleon, another one down and, what, 28 left to go? Wonder if I can do them all before my 30th? (That's at the end of March...)

So, I appear to have rather forgotten about deviantArt recently... I got rather busy during November with NaNoWriMo (which I did complete, at 50,000 words precisely) and I really haven't done any drawing since. However, I have only one day of work this week, and over Christmas I might just be able to put pencils and pens back to paper and get going again.

The Union Heroes list has changed a little, a couple of characters got deleted (including one I already drew, doh!) and a couple of new characters got made. Maiden Britain got remade, thanks to Issue 13 bringing shields into the game, and, well, she's supposed to be all Britannia-like, so she had to have a shield.

After a short break due to moving house, I have started drawing again- yay!

Since the last update, my list of Union heroes has grown by seven (oops...) and I've only done one more drawing. Slapped wrist. This was supposed to curb my raging altoholism- it's apparently not working!
